Dutch National Champion Big Air
Joey Dutch National Champion Big Air
Today, the Dutch National Championship Big Air. De weather is very unstable. 6 inches of fresh snow and limited visibility. The freestyle skiers are first today. After a few drop-ins visibility has decreased to a minimum, so the skiers decided not to start. In the next heat it's the youth and rookies turn to ride. The circumstances are difficult, it's snowing and visibility is still a problem. The competition authority decided not to ride any finals, except for the men's open. This meant for Joey that he has two runs to set his results. The kicker is 16 yards long. In his first run Joey does a straight air with grab. Due to the circumstances this is the best he could do for a safe run. After a clean landing he could take more risks. For his second run he performed a high jump with a 360. He landed with a little revert. A fine result in a difficult surrounding and a rewarding gold medal.
