Joey van de Noort

 

The Chill and Destroy tour continues.  Joey van de Noort is competing the Austrian locals at Warth-Schröcken(Aut). Blue skies, white mountains and a well shaped fun park are the ingredients for the Salober SHRED KING.

Although it is a 1 star TTR event, the kickers are big and have a very steep landing, so it is a challenging setup for the young shredders. After the training week in Kaprun (Aut) Joey is feeling comfortable in this park, the kickers do not impress him. He is riding the park as a pro.

At the qualifications Joey showed a wide variation of tricks. In the first run he took the kicker and boxes. The second run was a combination of rails, boxes and piste tricks. Both runs together got him a place in the finals for boys under 16. In the finals Joey did a BS 360 on the kicker then a 50-50 back nose on the up-flat-down-box and on the doubble kink box a 50-50 front nose. This was good for a 2^nd place for kids till 12 and a 5^th place for boys under 16.

Joey was really stoked.

Joey van de Noort (10 years old) represented the team this week at the tour stop Heubach (Germany) a  1 star TTR contest.  After a trip of 8 hours we arrived  early in the morning. Joey unpacked his gear and started warming up.  After a few rounds Joey and his coach discussed the park and set out the runs for the qualifications.

In Rotterdam we picked up Steven van Beveren to drive with us to Ice Mountain. On the two hours trip to Ice Mountain I enjoyed watching "Isenseven - Let's Go, Get Lost" and "The Art of Flight" on my new Laptop (gift for my birthday from my parents). During training I started with easy tricks, just for warming up. Steven told me that variation was important for this contest so I was going to perform as many trick as I know.
